Jon Hale
Jon was born in 1956. He achieved A level Fine Art at Caterham School where he was taught by John Bleach, now of Purley, Surrey. He did not paint again until 1996 when he was tutored by portrait painter Richard Smith of Godstone, Surrey.
The railway landscape paintings are mostly based on Jon’s photographs. Jon has photographed railway scenes since the 1970s and now he’s going through his back catalogue.
It’s also about the challenge and delight of a still-life: colour, beauty and form.
15% of all proceeds from sales of paintings are donated to All Saints' parish church, Crawley Down, West Sussex where Jon is Vicar.
Click on the individual paintings for details. Purchases can be collected or Jon will arrange delivery to anywhere in the UK.
